Overview
Built for the Millennium Dome show in 2000
The Res 9 featured several new technologies for the turn of the Millennium, including aerospace aluminium composite construction, Neodymium magnets and integrated PWM (Class D) amplifiers for 3-way active operation.
A full touring version was never built, but this concept ultimately became the Res 5T system.
After the Millennium Dome, Res 9s were used on a variety of other events, including Jamiroquai's 2002 Japan tour as a long-throw section for Res 5T arrays. For outdoor use, units were converted to passive (externally amplified) with covers for the mid-high section.
